LETTERS!!!

A lovely friend of mine who attended Harvest School of Missions in 2010, told me about this wonderful idea! She asked her friends and family to write her letters! These letters could be words of encouragement, a word from the Lord, a funny memory you shared, basically anything! She then took these letters to Africa, and over the next 3 months while she was there she read them! She said it brought such encouragement, and it was like a little piece of everyone while in Africa!

I LOVE reading letters of encouragement! Another friend of mine had my parents, brother and church family write me encouraging letters for my 25th birthday. It was the best present I received that year :)

Soooooo I'm asking anyone who wishes to write me some leddars!! Please! It would be fabulous to pop out these letters and read them while I'm in the "bush bush" sleeping outside in my little Walmart tent, being content, because I'm right where I'm supposed to be, WITH my wonderful letters :)

Christmas Wish-list :)

My departure to Mozambique Africa is quickly approaching. I'll be leaving in 2 weeks!!  My ticket is still not purchased, and there are so many things I still need, but all I can do is stand in Faith!! So in doing that I am listing a few things Iris Ministries has asked us to bring.  Hopefully you guys can help out!

BE CHILD LIKE!!

             
   Soooo last week Monday during my time with the Lord I asked Him what was on His heart for me that day. While I asked this question I kind of drifted off and started daydreaming. (Which I'm all too good at ;) I started thinking about an event I attended this summer, and I immediately started remembering dance moves of a young teenager that was there. I started thinking about how he danced with such  joy! He was fearless and free!  
His dance moves were the complete opposite of smooth and organized let me tell you! but it didn't matter because he was having a blast! His hands were up in the air, legs back and forth, big smile on his face.  While he danced he would throw back his head and laugh, he had such joy and he lit up the place! It was as if he had no boundaries at all! All eyes were on him, and I remember  having a huge smile on MY face. I admired his braveness, and total lack of concern of what others might think. Even though he was a young teenager it was as if he was in his own childlike world doing what made him happy.

As I daydreamed about that moment Monday morning, I felt like I needed to be like that! Childlike! God wants me to be free, happy, full of joy as I prepare for my journey to Africa. He also wants me to just believe like a child does. He wants me to take His promises, proclaim them, believe them, stand on them, and let Him do the rest!

OK, soooo I tried to carry this "childlike" attitude last week, and it was very challenging for me!! Doubt crept in, worry about provision, anxiousness. Yep! it tried to get the best of me, BUT this is a new week and I am determined more than ever to carry this "childlike" attitude. I'm going to believe the Lord for everything. My peace, my joy, my provision, EVERYTHING!! I don't want circumstances to dictate my life, but I want to stand on the promises of God and know His nature, knowing He is good and He will take care of me :)

Just a few encouraging words for your heart and  mine too :).....

The Lord is madly in love with us 
He desires to see us well and whole
He desires to give us the things that are in our hearts
He is singing over us with songs of gladness and praise
We are his precious sons and daughters and he longs to commune with us 
Oh come let us see the one who gave it all for us, the one who gave his only son
The one who catches our tears in a bottle, the one who longs for us 
Oh come let us worship the one who is madly in love with us. 
We will sing, we will dance, we will worship our loving KING.

Iris Ministries Harvest School of Missions

MOZAMBIQUE 

October-December 2013

Hello Family and Friends!

I am soo excited to share the wonderful news with you! I  have been accepted into Iris Ministries Harvest School of Missions!  This is an intense 3-month missionary training program, where I will be taught by Heidi and Rolland Baker on how to love, live, and carry God's heart for His people. This has been a DREAM of mine for many years, and by faith I will be living out my dream in less than 7 weeks!!


I want to share a little bit of my journey with you. For as long as I can remember I loved Iris Ministries. I was drawn to this ministries heart towards orphans, the poor, and how their core value is to love. For about 5 years I would go to their website and look at photos, videos, read blog entries about their work in Mozambique and around the world. I had such a burning desire to be apart of what they were doing, but timing is key and for that reason I wasn't able to go. However, I was able to go to South Africa in 2010 with my church family. It was my first trip to Africa and it was AMAZING! I
 definitely knew that it wouldn't be my last.

Fast forward to May 2013, I felt that this could be the year that I could go,  but as  summer fastly approached I figured maybe next year. Exactly 1 month ago I was at church and gently felt in my heart that I am supposed to go this year. I was shocked, excited and a little nervous all at the same time! I decided to apply to the school, and I just found out this past Saturday I have officially been accepted into their program!

I am soo excited for this new journey ahead of me. It has been a dream of mine to live and learn while in Africa. I will be living among hundreds of kids! Yay! and attending school with Mozambican pastors and leaders.

I am to leave for Mozambique Sept 30th which is less than 7 weeks away. I would like to ask you to pray about supporting me financially in any one time gift towards my trip. I appreciate the smallest gift, no gift is too small! Finances would help cover tuition, plane tickets, visas, outreach fees, funds needed while in Africa, and funds to help cover financial costs at home while in Africa. My total budget needed for the trip is 12,000! I know this is a big budget but our God is a big God, and there's nothing He cant do for us!!  If you are not able to support me financially then I would LOVE your prayer support while in Mozambique!!
